Just arrived in Tel Aviv for the first time. I'm here with Putih and the Dutch Jeugdjournaal (youth news). We'll join
the YNE (Youth News Exchange) meeting, a yearly gathering of all European youth news programs, hosted by
the EBU, in Jerusalem this year. The summit starts Monday; we're here already to chill out a bit, in Tel Aviv.
Today we chilled with our friends David and Luba (live in Barcelona, but are here for a family holiday).
We played frisbee on the beach and went to one of the oldest ports in the world: Jaffa.
The port of Jaffa is believed to be a harbor since the Bronze Age (3000 years B.C.).
In Jaffa we suddenly bumped into Guus and Ilse and their baby Mare. Old journalism friends from Groningen
University I didn't see in years. Guus is now correspondent for the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad and blogs.
Tel Aviv has incredible architecture - the largest amount of Bauhaus buildings for example.
This building seems a modern version of it...
Okay, we'll go! Tomorrow blogging from Jerusalem. Shalom
