Children's news Suriname: hospitalized kids get cable tv in Paramaribo - on report with Tien Minuten Jeugdjournaal.
by Ole Chavannes, 28 juli 2009
What's the news for children today in Surinam? One of the items the editorial staff chooses is cable tv
with non-stop cartoons for injured kids. We join one camera crew to the childrens' wing in Paramaribo's academic hospital.
All children get interviewed about what they like about the new channels. First they are a bit nervous, but the reporters take
time for every kid, so soon the atmosphere becomes relaxed.
The boy in the wheelchair finally gets interviewed himself.
I give him my camera to play with; this is his picture of his friend and me.
The team decides the cable tv item becomes the opening of the news that evening at 19h. Thanks Ten Minutes for bringing
us along on this special report. It was a pleasure to experience the professional work of the Surinam kids news.
